How do I get my business listed?
It’s easy! Start by searching for your business on Brighton.co.uk to see whether you already have a Spotlight Listing.
If your business is already listed, you can start the process of claiming it. If it’s not listed, you can create a new Spotlight Listing.
Simply create your Brighton.co.uk account, choose your plan and follow the steps to complete your business profile. After approval, you can then manage your Spotlight Listing through Your Account dashboard.
What types of businesses can be listed?
We welcome businesses of all shapes and sizes based in Brighton & Hove, including cafés, restaurants, independent shops, salons, tradespeople, creatives, attractions, venues and professional services.

Every Spotlight Listing has a dedicated business page on Brighton.co.uk, featuring essential information such as your business description, contact details, location and opening hours. Our free Discover Plan gives your business a place on Brighton.co.uk.
For more ways to showcase what makes your business special, our paid Grow and Elevate plans offer additional features, including social media links, photo galleries, more detailed business information and specialist features tailored to your business category.
Do I need a website or social media to be listed?
Not at all! You don’t need a website or social media accounts to join The Brighton Spotlight.
Every Spotlight Listing comes with its own dedicated page on Brighton.co.uk, giving your business an online presence where customers can discover what you do, find your contact details and learn more about your services.
If you have social media accounts, you can showcase them with our Grow or Elevate plans.
If you have a website, you can include a link with our Elevate Plan. And if you don’t have either, that’s absolutely fine. Your Spotlight Listing gives your business a place to be found online, even without a website of your own.
How much do Brighton Spotlight plans cost?
Our Discover Plan is currently free, giving every local business the opportunity to have a presence on Brighton.co.uk, whether you’re just starting out or simply don’t have a marketing budget to spare.
For businesses looking for more features and visibility, our paid Grow and Elevate plans offer additional ways to showcase what makes your business special.

How long does it take for my listing to go live?
If you choose one of our paid plans (Grow or Elevate), your Spotlight Listing will go live immediately once you’ve completed your profile and payment.
If you’re claiming an existing Spotlight Listing through our Discover Plan, we’ll need to verify that you’re authorised to represent the business before approving your claim.
We’ll keep you updated by email throughout the verification process and let you know as soon as your claim is approved.
Will my business appear on Google or AI?
Your Spotlight Listing gives your business its own dedicated page on Brighton.co.uk, designed to be discoverable by search engines like Google and AI-powered search tools.
We follow SEO best practices to help search engines understand your business, including what you offer, where you’re based and how customers can contact you. The more complete and detailed your Spotlight Listing, the more information is available to help customers, search engines and AI understand your business.
Our Grow and Elevate plans offer additional features to showcase your services, experience and what makes your business unique. While we can’t guarantee Google rankings, indexing or AI recommendations, your Spotlight Listing provides another opportunity for people to discover your business online.

We take accuracy seriously and carry out checks to help keep the Brighton Spotlight reliable and useful for everyone.
When someone creates or claims an existing Spotlight Listing through our Discover Plan, we check that they’re authorised to represent the business.
Businesses are responsible for keeping their information accurate and up to date, and not every detail is independently verified by Brighton.co.uk.
If you spot something that looks incorrect or out of date, please let us know through our contact form, and we’ll look into it.
Can anyone claim an existing listing?
If your business already appears on Brighton.co.uk, you can claim the listing and take ownership of your Spotlight profile.
We’ll ask you to provide a business email address or other evidence that you’re authorised to represent the business. Once we’ve verified your connection, you’ll be able to manage and update your listing.
